Citrine, as you have probably surmised, comes from the same word origin as citrus. And both the gemstone and the fruits have varying tints of yellow, from pale gold to bright amber to deep honey. The iron in the quartz crystals cause the yellow shades of citrine.
These fun summer earrings imitate the shades of citrine. The rose beads are multi-faceted glass lampwork crystals. The design of the beads is reminiscent of the enchanted rose of the fairy tale Beauty and the Beast. To continue with the nature theme, the rose beads is complemented with brass leaf charms, made of silver-colored Tibetan-style alloy, with accents of beads and chains.
Folklore-wise, citrine is believed to have the ability to calm tumultuous feelings as well as accumulate wealth. This is why citrine is sometimes referred to as the Merchants Stone.
The ancient Greeks associate citrine with the goddess Demeter. She is the goddess of harvest and productivity. And if you are into mythology and born in November, then this mini-tree of life would be the perfect accent for your personality.
These earrings, compared to many of its tree-of-life sisters, are absolutely tiny. The diameter is barely bigger than half an inch.
Due to the handmade nature of the jewelry, the left and right are not exactly symmetrical. But I have taken high resolution pictures so you can look more closely at the pair.
The topaz, similar to citrine, is known for its yellow colors. But topaz gems tend towards the darker range of yellow and closer to orange and brown in color. Some topaz are colorless. And the most rare of topaz is actually blue.
Both African shamans and Hindus believe that topaz is a sacred gemstone. It can supposedly calm anger. Because of this, I thought it would be appropriate to gift this yellow and blue earrings of peace to a November celebrant who has the ability to soothe your feelings.
