From its name, it is easy to immediately know that Tanzanite can only be found in Tanzania, specifically in the Manyari region near the famous Mount Kilimanjaro.
One of the most famous tanzanite is called the Queen of Kilimanjaro tiara. This jewelry, besides the large 242-carat tanzanite at the center, also has 803 tsavorite (or green) garnets and 913 diamonds. It is, undeniably, a royal among jewelry.
While we can't have this tiara, we can have this pair of earrings that mimics the colors of tanzanite. The cabochon is made of faux druse quartz nestled in a stainless steel bezel tray. The fun and unique charm, royal hearts, is of Tibetan silver alloy.
Zircon is the oldest mineral of our planet and comes in a variety of colors. The most famous colorless zircon is called the Matura Diamond. The only difference between colorless zircon and diamond is the hardness. Zircon is decidedly more brittle.
For the month of December, only the blue zircon is considered the birthstone. So for her who celebrates birthdays in December, this pair of earrings show a bi-cone blue crystal treasure surrounded by diamond-like crystal resins.
Perfect simple birthday gift.
Turquoise is another blue gemstone for December birthday celebrants.
Turquoise can be found all over the world and have been recognized as a precious stone for thousands of years. One of the oldest turquoise mine is close to the ancient temple of Hathor, the Egyptian goddess of love.
The more interesting turquoise may have matrices of rock that show as webs or patches, similar to the one shown in this pair of bead earrings. These are not true turquoise, of course, but it represents similar interesting patchwork.
The oval painted beads are high-quality glass, which are durable. Because the glass is painted, the color blends and beautiful swirls are not exactly the same. But these are undoubtedly gorgeous and feels smooth to touch.
